9 oz. ramen noodles

  • cook according to package directions, drain, and set aside

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1 Tbsp. rice vinegar
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. chili sauce
1/4 cup water

  • whisk together in a small bowl

2 Tbsp. sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
4-6 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tsp. sesame seeds

  • heat oil in large pan and cook garlic and ginger for 1 minute
  • add sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes
  • stir in noodles and until heated through and coated in sauce, about 3 minutes
  • garnish with onions and sesame seeds

01/29/23: made a double batch with the following modifications: tamari instead of soy sauce, about half as much oyster sauce, mirin instead of rice vinegar and brown sugar, and slightly less sesame oil. i also added some steamed broccoli. it was very good, but a little too salty for some. next time i would reduce tamari or partially substitute with low-sodium (like the original recipe called for).
