24 oz. jar of pasta sauce (or make your own from tomato sauce/paste, onion, garlic, herbs, etc.)
1 cup chicken stock
2 cups water
1 lb. pasta

  • add pasta sauce, stock, and water and bring to a boil
  • add pasta, reduce heat, and simmer until pasta reaches desired doneness (approx. 10-15 minutes)

to add meat:

  • italian sausage or ground beef: before adding pasta sauce and other liquids, crumble and brown 1 lb. sausage or beef over medium heat and drain excess grease
  • pre-cooked meatballs: add and simmer with pasta

08/16/2024: used the whole 15 minutes with meatballs, and it was great (though a little greasy). next time i think i’ll use sausage, so i can remove some of the grease, instead of meatballs which release all of their grease into the sauce.
