to make a full 6-cup chemex of coffee:

  • wet a cone filter and add to chemex
  • grind 40-50g of beans at finest setting in coarse category and add to chemex
  • wet the grounds thoroughly with boiling water, then let sit for 5 minutes
  • pour a total of 1.5L (6 1/4 cups) of hot water (200°F) into the chemex in batches to allow draining
