1 cup rice
1.25 cups water

  • rinse rice in cold water three times, until it runs clear
  • add rice and water to pan and soak for 30 minutes
  • bring to a boil uncovered
  • cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 12 minutes
  • remove from heat and rest for 15 minutes before removing cover
