2 cups flour
1 tbsp. yeast
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

  • add to stand mixer bowl and mix

3/4 cup milk (110°F)
2 1/2 tbsp. butter, softened
1 egg

  • add to mixer bowl, stir by hand to combine, then mix on low until a dough forms
  • increase speed to medium and mix for 2 minutes

1/2 cup flour
2 tbsp. butter

  • add 1 tbsp. at a time until dough forms a ball and cleans the side of the bowl
  • transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise at room temperature for 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight
  • punch down, divide into 16 pieces, and shape into balls
  • transfer to greased 8x8” pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes
  • bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown
  • brush with melted butter and serve immediately
